FAQ

1. What kind of fabrics do you use to make the pillow cases?
The front map panels are a sophisticated light-weight canvas woven from 55% linen and 45% combed cotton, custom digitally printed with my vintage Canadian map images. The pillow backing fabrics are also a 55% linen 45% cotton blend, available in black or off-white.

2. Do the pillows come with the inserts?
Always! If you need to buy a pillow case only, please contact Helen for details.

3. What are the pillow inserts made of?
We use a 12x18 inch cotton down proof shell filled with 5% white goose down and 95% white goose feathers (washed and odour free). Our down/feather inserts are made in Montreal with new material only and sterilized down/feather filling.

4. Any other inserts available?
For those with allergies or who just prefer another fill, we can provide an insert manufactured with 100% new pure white polyester. Please contact Helen for details.

5. How do I wash my pillowcase?
All pillows have a care tag sewn inside which gives cleaning instructions. Our pillowcases can be hand washed in cool water using phosphate-free detergent. Hang to dry and iron. No tumble dry!!

6. Who makes your pillows?
All pillows are handmade by Helen.

7. Where are the pillows made?
Helen creates the pillows by hand in Toronto and Prince Edward County.

8. How are the map fabrics made?
The fabrics are digitally printed for Vintage Map Co by Canadian and U.S. suppliers, using graphics we create from real vintage Canadian maps.

9. Where do you get the maps used to create your fabrics?
We are inspired by vintage maps of the places we love! We work hard to track down original vintage maps which are then used to create custom graphics digitally printed for us onto a high-quality linen-cotton canvas.
